Only five candidates from the two major political parties combined have signed a pledge ensuring that they will not hand out favours for votes.
In an initiative by Volt Malta, a small political party that will be shooting its first shot in the upcoming general election, all candidates contesting the election have been requested to sign a pledge as part of Volt’s #PolitikaOnesta project that aims to fight clientelism during and after elections.
The party said it would reveal the candidates’ responses on Friday, with candidates risking being added to a ‘naughty’ list if their pledge is breached.
